Final teaser released for Lamborghini race car before its anticipated debut at Goodwood

Berita, Otomotif446 Dilihat

The 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed will showcase numerous vehicle debuts, primarily focused on production models. However, the upcoming Lamborghini unveiling is distinct, as it does not belong to the regular showroom lineup nor is it a production-based race car. The full reveal of this unique Lamborghini is scheduled for July 13.

Lamborghini’s latest creation is set to compete in the Hypercar and GTP categories of the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA. While it may not feature the extravagant design and scissor doors typical of Lamborghinis, the teaser reveals significant aerodynamic elements such as large wings and abundant vents.

Specifics about the powertrain are currently unavailable, but it has been disclosed that the Lamborghini race car will feature a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with hybrid assistance. This engine, developed exclusively for racing by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, adheres to regulations capping the maximum output at 671 horsepower.

Given the high power outputs commonly seen in production supercars, achieving this target should be easily attainable for this purpose-built race car.

In line with category regulations, the Lamborghini LMDh machine will adhere to specific chassis supplier requirements, limiting the design possibilities for its exterior.

However, the teaser hints at personalization options with visible shades of green.

Additionally, the presence of Iron Lynx on the tail fin indicates the involvement of a racing team that currently races with a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 in IMSA and the GT World Challenge Europe, suggesting a partnership or collaboration for this project.

There is uncertainty regarding whether the Lamborghini race car will have a static display or make a run up the renowned hill at the event. Nevertheless, it won’t be the sole Lamborghini drawing attention.

In addition to Lamborghini showcasing several models, such as the new Revuelto, Eccentrica will present its Lamborghini Diablo restomod, which enhances the classic 1990s supercar with updated bodywork and a modernized interior.

The 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed commences on July 13 and concludes on July 16, offering a thrilling weekend of automotive excitement.
