Towcester homes and retirement complex plans

The plan is to build up to 110 homes, which will include a retirement complex, to meet the demand for essential accommodation.

Developers aim to construct on land located off London Road in Towcester, South Northamptonshire.

Provisional plans suggest that around 68 homes on the 4.8-hectare site will be designated for “retirement living.”

An additional 15 apartments are planned for part of the plot, while the largest portion of the site will accommodate 27 houses.

After consulting with West Northamptonshire Council planning officers, it was determined that any development could be executed without significantly adversely impacting the character of the surrounding area.

The officer emphasized that the scheme should be “landscape-led,” with a focus on retaining existing trees on the site to minimize visual impact as much as possible.

DPP Planning, representing Pomfret Management Ltd, expressed that any development would be harmonious with the neighboring residential area of Towcester, fulfilling the demand for essential dwellings and retirement accommodation in this region of South Northamptonshire.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the proposed retirement complex for individuals aged over 55 will be situated on the western part of the site and will comprise one and two-bedroom apartments.

As per the planning documents, a “small cluster of apartments” will be constructed near the retirement complex, targeting younger or first-time buyers who aim to enter the property market.
